The Historic Rice Mill Building is Charleston's most spectacular waterfront venue, offering unparalleled sunset views over the Ashley River.

Overlooking the City Marina in Downtown Charleston, the building's history is as colorful as the view. Built in 1861 and on the National Register of Historic Places, it is the only of Charleston's three antebellum rice mills that still stands. It has also served as a seaplane terminal and a Navy minesweeper base. While the inside of the building has been extensively remodeled, the exterior hasn't changed much over the years.
The ground floor event space is perfectly appointed for a variety of events. Classic design features include exposed brick, wide plank wood floors, large double windows and pressed tin ceilings. The beautiful mahogany and marble bar is well suited for dancing and live music with an adjoining covered patio.

The Historic Rice Mill Building is an exclusive venue of Good Food Catering. Developed by the creators of three acclaimed Charleston eateries, GFC brings restaurant quality cuisine and service to the catered world. Menu inspirations range from French and Asian to classic Charleston recipes. Our culinary team is committed to incorporating the freshest seasonal ingredients into their creations.
